Steak and Cheese

BLT Components

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Season the ribeye steak with salt and pepper. Grill or sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached.

  2. 2

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place the slices of white American cheese on top of the steak. Cover the grill or skillet to melt the cheese.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Onions

While the steak is cooking, slice the onion into thin rings. In a separate skillet over medium heat, add a little oil and sauté the onions until they are soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.

Bacon and Assembly

  1. 4

    Cook the Bacon

In the same skillet used for the onions, add the bacon slices and cook until crispy, about 5-6 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  2. 5

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash the lettuce and slice the tomato into thin rounds.

  3. 6

    Assemble the Sandwich

Slice the sub rolls open. Spread mayonnaise on the inside of each roll. Layer the cooked steak with melted cheese, sautéed onions, crispy bacon, lettuce, and tomato. Close the sandwich and serve immediately.
