Main Ingredients

Crispy Cheddar Onions

Method

Preparing the Turkey

  1. 1

    Roasting the Turkey

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Rinse the turkey under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels. Season the turkey with salt and pepper, and place it in a roasting pan. Brush the turkey with half of the BBQ sauce.

  2. 2

    Cooking Time

Roast the turkey in the preheated oven for about 13-15 minutes per pound, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Baste the turkey with the remaining BBQ sauce every hour during cooking.

  3. 3

    Resting the Turkey

Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven and cover it with aluminum foil. Let it rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.

Preparing the Salad

  1. 4

    Mixing the Salad

In a large bowl, combine the mixed greens, diced tomatoes, corn, and black beans. Toss gently to combine.

  2. 5

    Dressing the Salad

Drizzle the chipotle ranch dressing over the salad and toss again until everything is evenly coated. Set aside.

Crispy Cheddar Onions

  1. 6

    Preparing the Onions

In a medium bowl, mix the flour, salt, and black pepper together. Dip each onion slice in milk, then coat it in the flour mixture.

  2. 7

    Frying the Onions

In a large frying pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the coated onion slices in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  3. 8

    Topping the Salad

Once the onions are crispy, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the onions while they are still hot to help it melt slightly.
