Method

Prepare the Steak

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Add the flank steak and ensure it's well coated. Allow it to marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Grill the marinated steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached. Remove from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.

Sauté the Vegetables

  1. 3

    Chop and Sauté

While the steak is grilling, slice the green bell pepper and onion into thin strips. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little olive oil. Sauté the vegetables for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender and slightly caramelized.

Prepare the Filling

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced grilled steak, sautéed vegetables, canned green chile with pork, and queso blanco. Mix well to combine all the flavors.

Assemble the Sandwich

  1. 5

    Toast the Hoagie Rolls

Lightly toast the hoagie rolls on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until they are golden brown.

  2. 6

    Fill the Rolls

Evenly distribute the steak and vegetable mixture into each hoagie roll. Serve immediately while hot.
