Preparing the Rice

1. Rinse the Rice

Begin by rinsing the long-grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch.

2. Cook the Rice

In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and water is absorbed.

Steaming the Vegetables

Fill a pot with about 1-2 inches of water and bring to a simmer. Place a steamer basket over the pot, making sure it doesn't touch the water.
