Blackened Gator Taco Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Alligator

In a large bowl, coat the alligator tail meat with olive oil and blackening seasoning. Make sure the meat is evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot.

  3. 3

    Cook the Alligator

Add the seasoned alligator tail meat to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the meat is blackened and cooked through.

  4. 4

    Warm the Tortillas

While the alligator is cooking, warm the corn or flour tortillas in a separate pan over low heat until soft and pliable.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Tacos

Once the alligator is cooked, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it into bite-sized pieces. Place the alligator meat on the warmed tortillas and top with shredded cabbage, chopped cilantro, avocado slices, and a squeeze of lime. Add hot sauce to taste.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the blackened gator tacos immediately with additional lime wedges and hot sauce on the side.
