Base Ingredients

Method

Preparation of Sorbet Base

  1. 1

    Make Simple Syrup

This will be our simple syrup base for the sorbet.

  2. 2

    Add Lemon Juice

Once the syrup has cooled, stir in the lemon juice to enhance the flavor.

Making Sorbet

  1. 3

    Prepare Fruit Purees

In a blender or food processor, combine the fruit of your choice (strawberries, mango, raspberries, or peaches) with 1 cup of the prepared simple syrup base. Blend until smooth.

  2. 4

    Strain if Desired

If you prefer a smoother texture, strain the puree through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds and pulp.

  3. 5

    Chill the Mixture

Refrigerate the fruit puree mixture for at least 1 hour to ensure it’s cold before freezing.

  4. 6

    Freeze the Sorbet

Pour the chilled fruit puree into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

  5. 7

    Hardening the Sorbet

Transfer the churned sorbet into a lidded container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
