Burger Patty

Toppings

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging during cooking.

Cook the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for medium doneness.

Prepare Toppings

  1. 5

    Slice Vegetables

While the patties are cooking, wash and slice the tomato and red onion. Tear the lettuce leaves into large pieces.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast Buns

If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a leaf of romaine lettuce, followed by the cooked burger patty, slices of tomato, and red onion. Add ketchup and mustard to taste, then top with the other half of the bun.
