Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it reaches the correct temperature before baking.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Baking Pan

Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper for easy removal of the brownies.

Mixing Ingredients

  1. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and baking powder until well mixed.

  2. 4

    Melt Butter

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  3. 5

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a large bowl, beat the eggs and then add the melted butter and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.

  4. 6

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  5. 7

    Add Optional Ingredients

Fold in chocolate chips and/or chopped nuts if desired.

Baking

  1. 8

    Pour Batter into Pan

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.

  2. 9

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  3. 10

    Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Cut into squares and serve.
