Burger Patties

Method

Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meat Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 lb of ground beef, 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of black pepper, 1 tsp of garlic powder, and 1 tsp of onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into 2 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burgers

Toast the burger buns on the grill or skillet. Place each cooked patty on a bun and top with lettuce, tomato slices, ketchup, and mustard as desired.

Fries

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the 2 medium potatoes and cut them into thin strips to make fries.

  2. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat 4 cups of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 7

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the cut potatoes into the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  4. 8

    Season the Fries

While fries are still hot, sprinkle with 1 tsp of salt and toss to coat evenly.
