Method
Preparation of Cauliflower
- 1
Prepare the Cauliflower
Remove the leaves and stem from the cauliflower head. Cut the cauliflower into bite-sized florets.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add water to the dry ingredients and whisk until smooth.
Frying
- 3
- 4
Coat the Cauliflower
Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, letting any excess batter drip off.
- 5
Fry the Cauliflower
Carefully place the battered cauliflower florets into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Buffalo Sauce
- 6
Prepare the Buffalo Sauce
In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, stir in the hot sauce, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well until combined.
- 7
Toss the Cauliflower
In a large mixing bowl, add the fried cauliflower and pour the buffalo sauce over the top. Toss gently until all florets are well-coated.
Serving
- 8
Serve
Transfer the buffalo cauliflower to a serving platter and enjoy while hot, optionally garnished with celery sticks or blue cheese dressing.
