Method
Bread Pudding
- 1
Prepare the Bread
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the stale bread into cubes and place them in a large bowl.
- 2
Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Combine and Add Raisins
Pour the wet mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring all bread is soaked. If using, stir in the raisins. Let it sit for 15 minutes to absorb flavors.
- 4
Bake the Pudding
Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted comes out clean.
Vanilla Sauce
- 5
Combine Ingredients
In a small saucepan, combine the milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cornstarch, and water.
- 6
Cook the Sauce
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil. Once thickened, remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.
