Preparing the Burger Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Form Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cook Patties
In the same skillet used for the bacon, add the burger patties. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, adding a slice of cheddar cheese on top during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Toast Buns
While the patties are cooking, you can toast the burger buns in the skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a leaf of lettuce, followed by the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, crispy bacon, and a slice of tomato. Top with the other half of the bun.
