Prepare the Bread
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Tear the day-old bread into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.

Mix Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Combine the Mixtures
Pour the wet mixture over the torn bread pieces and fold gently to combine. Add the raisins and mix until evenly distributed.

Bake
Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
Whiskey Sauce

Combine Ingredients
Stir in the brown sugar and heavy cream, and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.

Add Whiskey and Vanilla
Add the whiskey and vanilla extract to the sauce, and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes to thicken slightly.

Serve
Remove from heat and serve warm over the baked bread pudding.
