Pizza Sauce
Pizza Assembly
Method
Prepare Pizza Sauce
- 1
- 2
Combine Ingredients
Add the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar to the saucepan. Stir to combine all the ingredients.
- 3
Simmer the Sauce
Bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce should thicken slightly.
- 4
Cool and Store
Once the sauce has thickened, remove it from heat and let it cool. It can be used immediately or stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Assemble Pizza
- 5
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
- 6
Roll Out Pizza Dough
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness. Transfer the rolled dough to a pizza peel or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 7
Add Pizza Sauce
Spread an even layer of the house-made pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- 8
Layer Pepperoni and Cheese
Evenly distribute the pepperoni slices over the sauce, then sprinkle the five blend pizza cheese generously on top.
- 9
Bake the Pizza
Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated oven (or onto the pizza stone) and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- 10
Slice and Serve
Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing it into wedges. Serve hot and enjoy!
