Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation of Maple Bacon Aioli

  1. 1

    Mix the ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, maple syrup, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the maple bacon slices until crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels, then chop into small pieces.

Assemble the Melt

  1. 3

    Preheat the oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 4

    Toast the sourdough

Place the slices of sourdough bread on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 5 minutes or until lightly golden.

  3. 5

    Layer the ingredients

On two slices of toasted sourdough, layer the oven-roasted turkey, sliced avocado, Swiss cheese, and chopped bacon.

  4. 6

Add aioli and top with bread

Spread a generous amount of the maple bacon aioli on the remaining two slices of sourdough and place them on top of the layered sandwiches.

  5. 7

    Melt the cheese

Return the sandwiches to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  6. 8

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool for a minute, slice in half, and serve warm with extra aioli on the side.
