Burger Patty Preparation

1. Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined; do not overwork the meat.

2. Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.

3. Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

4. Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Assembling the Burger

5. Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster.

6. Add Toppings

On the bottom half of each bun, layer with lettuce, followed by the cooked beef patty, slices of tomato, and a drizzle of special sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
