Sandwich

Method

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Slice the Cuban bread in half lengthwise. Spread softened butter on the outer sides of the bread.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Sandwich

Layer the sliced roast beef generously on the bottom half of the Cuban bread, followed by the Swiss cheese slices. Close the sandwich with the top half of the bread.

Au Jus Preparation

  1. 3

    Cook the Au Jus

In a saucepan over medium heat, add a little oil and sauté the shallots and garlic until softened. Pour in the beef broth, add Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and salt. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes to develop flavors.

Fries Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Fries

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the cut potatoes in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste.

Final Assembly

  1. 5

    Grill the Sandwich

In a skillet, place the sandwich and grill over medium heat until the bread is golden and crispy, and the cheese has melted, about 5 minutes. Flip and repeat on the other side.

  2. 6

    Serve

Cut the sandwich in half and serve hot with a side of fries and the Au Jus for dipping.
