Method

Beef Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Form the Patties

In a large bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef with 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of black pepper. Mix gently and form into two equal patties, about 1/2 pound each.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

Grilled Onions Preparation

  1. 3

    Slice and Grill the Onions

While the patties are cooking, slice the medium red onion into thin rings. In a skillet, heat 1 tbsp of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and caramelized.

Boom Boom Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine 1 cup of mayonnaise, 2 tbsp of Sriracha sauce, 1 tbsp of lemon juice, and 1 tsp of garlic powder. Mix well until fully combined.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Melt the Cheese

In the last minute of cooking the patties, place 2 slices of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cover the grill or skillet to help the cheese melt.

  2. 6

    Toast the Buns

In a separate skillet, melt 1 tbsp of butter over medium heat. Place the potato burger buns cut-side down and toast until golden brown.

  3. 7

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted potato bun, spread a generous amount of Boom Boom sauce. Place the cheese-topped patty on top, followed by a portion of the grilled onions. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
