Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Red Cabbage

In a pot, sauté the chopped red cabbage in a little olive oil over medium heat until it softens, about 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Sausages

In a large skillet or grill, cook the bratwurst, bockwurst, kielbasa, and German wieners over medium heat. Turn occasionally until browned and cooked through, about 15-20 minutes.

  3. 3

    Heat the Sauerkraut

In a small pot, gently heat the homemade sauerkraut over low heat until warmed through, about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Plate

On a large platter, arrange the cooked sausages alongside the warm sauerkraut and sautéed red cabbage. Serve with a bowl of German mustard for dipping.
