Mozzarella Sticks

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cheese

Cut the mozzarella cheese into sticks, about 1 inch wide and 4 inches long. Place on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour, beaten eggs (whisked together), and bread crumbs mixed with salt and pepper.

  3. 3

    Bread the Mozzarella Sticks

Remove the mozzarella sticks from the freezer. Dredge each stick in flour, shaking off excess. Dip into the egg mixture, then roll in the bread crumbs, making sure they are completely coated. Repeat until all sticks are breaded.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Mozzarella Sticks

Carefully add the breaded mozzarella sticks to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve hot with Pizza Times dipping sauce on the side.
