Crispy Chicken Strips
Method
Preparation and Cooking Steps
- 1
Marinate Chicken
In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breast pieces and let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- 2
Prepare Breading Stations
Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs.
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Dredge each piece in flour, dip into the beaten eggs, and coat with panko breadcrumbs.
- 4
Heat Oil
In a large frying pan or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry Chicken Strips
Carefully add the breaded chicken strips to the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.
- 6
Prepare Fries
While the chicken is frying, cook the hand-cut fries according to your preferred method (deep fry, bake, or air fry) until crispy and golden.
