Cuban Sandwich Ingredients

Method

Preparation Directions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Pork

In a bowl, combine garlic, orange juice, lime juice, oregano, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Place the pork shoulder into a resealable bag, pour the marinade over it, seal, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.

  2. 2

    Cook the Pork

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Remove the pork from the marinade and place it in a baking dish. Cover with foil and roast for about 3 hours, or until the pork is tender and pulls apart easily. Let it rest before shredding.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Sandwich

Slice the ciabatta rolls in half. Spread a layer of chipotle aioli on one side. Add shredded pork, ham, slices of chorizo, Swiss cheese, and sweet pickles.

  4. 4

    Toast the Sandwich

Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter. Place the assembled sandwich in the skillet, pressing down slightly. Toast for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and the cheese has melted.

  5. 5

    Serve

Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve warm.
