Method
Tiramisu Directions
- 1
Prepare the Coffee Mixture
In a shallow dish, combine the brewed espresso with the coffee liqueur (if using). Allow it to cool to room temperature.
- 2
Make the Mascarpone Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, whisk the mascarpone cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract together until smooth.
- 3
Whip the Cream
In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
- 4
Assemble the Tiramisu
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a rectangular dish.
- 5
Layer the Mascarpone Mixture
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 6
Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- 7
Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder. Slice and enjoy your homemade tiramisu!
