Pasta Preparation
- 1
Cook the Tortellini
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the tortellini and cook according to package instructions, usually about 3-5 minutes until they float to the top. Drain and set aside.
Sauce Preparation
- 2
Sauté Garlic and Mushrooms
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Then, add the sliced mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are browned and tender.
- 3
Make the Cream Sauce
Reduce the heat to low and pour in the heavy cream. Stir well and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until melted and the sauce is smooth.
- 4
Season the Sauce
Add salt and black pepper to the sauce, adjusting to taste.
Final Assembly
- 5
Combine and Serve
Add the cooked tortellini and frozen peas to the skillet with the sauce. Toss gently to coat everything in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the peas are heated through. Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan if desired.
