Zucchini Sticks
Creamy Horseradish Sauce
Method
Zucchini Sticks
- 1
Prepare the Zucchini
Wash and dry the zucchinis. Cut the ends off and then slice each zucchini into sticks, approximately 1/4 inch thick.
- 2
- 3
Bread the Zucchini
Take each zucchini stick and first dip it into the flour, coating it evenly. Shake off any excess flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- 4
Heat Oil
In a large heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to ensure the oil reaches the proper temperature.
- 5
Fry the Zucchini Sticks
Carefully place the breaded zucchini sticks in the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove them with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Creamy Horseradish Sauce
- 6
Mix the Sauce
In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream, prepared horseradish, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well blended.
- 7
Serve
Transfer the creamy horseradish sauce to a serving bowl and serve alongside the deep-fried zucchini sticks.
