Method
Cheese Preparation
- 1
Cut the Cheese
Using a sharp knife, cut the mozzarella cheese into sticks approximately 1/2 inch wide and 3 inches long.
- 2
- 3
Bread the Cheese
Coat each mozzarella stick first in the flour, shaking off excess, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally roll in the breadcrumbs until fully coated.
Frying
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping in a small piece of bread; it should sizzle and turn golden brown.
- 5
Fry the Mozzarella
Carefully place the breaded mozzarella sticks into the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally for even cooking.
- 6
Drain the Cheese
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried mozzarella sticks and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serving
- 7
Serve with Marinara Sauce
Arrange the deep-fried mozzarella sticks on a serving platter and serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping.
