Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Manicotti Noodles

In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the manicotti noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside to cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, chopped parsley, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 3

    Stuff the Noodles

Using a spoon or a piping bag, carefully fill each manicotti noodle with the cheese mixture, being careful not to overfill.

  2. 4

    Prepare the Baking Dish

Spread 1 cup of tomato sauce (or white sauce) in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  3. 5

    Arrange the Stuffed Noodles

Place the stuffed manicotti in the baking dish, side by side, until the dish is filled.

  4. 6

    Add Sauce and Cheese

Pour the remaining sauce over the stuffed noodles, ensuring they are well covered. Sprinkle with any remaining mozzarella or Parmesan cheese on top.

  5. 7

    Bake the Manicotti

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

  6. 8

    Serve

Allow the baked manicotti to cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
