Cooking the Pasta

Boil the Water
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil over high heat.

Cook the Fettuccine
Once the water is boiling, add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente (about 8-10 minutes).

Drain the Pasta
Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the fettuccine in a colander.
Making the Sauce

Melt the Butter
In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.

Add Cream and Cheese
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.

Season the Sauce
Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
Combining Pasta and Sauce

Combine
Add the drained fettuccine to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.

Garnish and Serve
Serve immediately, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
