Prepare Blood Orange Ice Cubes
In a blender, combine blood orange juice and water. Pour the mixture into ice cube trays and freeze until solid, about 4-6 hours.

Mix the Cocktail
In a shaker, combine Ilegal Mezcal, elderflower liqueur, ginger liqueur, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup. Fill the shaker with ice and shake well until chilled.

Assemble the Drink
Fill a glass with the blood orange ice cubes. Strain the cocktail mixture over the ice cubes. Garnish with a lime wheel or a sprig of mint if desired.
