Shrimp & Chips Ingredients
Method
Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Shrimp
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in the cold water until the batter is smooth.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 3
Batter the Shrimp
Dip each shrimp into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off.
- 4
Fry the Shrimp
Carefully place the battered shrimp into the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Cook the Fries
While the shrimp cooks, prepare the steak fries according to package instructions or fry fresh ones until golden and crispy.
- 6
Serve
Plate the fried shrimp with steak fries, garnish with coleslaw, and serve with cocktail sauce on the side.
