Main Ingredients

Lingonberry Sauce

Method

Preparing the Reindeer

  1. 1

    Season the Steaks

Sprinkle the reindeer steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides. Let them rest for 15 minutes at room temperature to enhance the flavor.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steaks

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the reindeer steaks and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Making the Lingonberry Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a small saucepan, combine the lingonberries, sugar, water, and lemon juice.

  2. 4

    Cook the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until the lingonberries have burst and the sauce has thickened. Stir occasionally.

  3. 5

    Cool and Serve

Once thickened, remove from heat and let the sauce cool slightly before serving alongside the sliced reindeer.
