Prepare the Meatball Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and ground pork. Add the finely chopped onion, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Form the Meatballs
With wet hands, form the mixture into meatballs about the size of a golf ball and place them on a plate. You should get about 12-15 meatballs.

Brown the Meatballs
In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until they are browned on all sides. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.

Add Broth and Seasonings
Gradually whisk in the beef broth, ensuring there are no lumps. Add the soy sauce, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Bring the sauce to a simmer.

Return Meatballs to Sauce
Add the browned meatballs back to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for about 10 minutes, until cooked through.

Plate the Dish
Serve the meatballs with the brown sauce over a generous helping of buttered potatoes. Garnish with additional fresh parsley if desired.
