Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub both sides of the ribeye steaks with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and rosemary. Make sure to massage the seasoning into the meat.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat, about 450°F to 500°F (232°C to 260°C).

  4. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the steaks on the hot grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached. Use a meat thermometer to check; it should read 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once done, remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for about 5-10 minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and cut the russet potatoes into chunks. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt.

  2. 7

    Boil the Potatoes

Bring the pot to a boil over medium-high heat and cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.

  3. 8

    Cook the Garlic

While the potatoes are boiling, in a small saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over low heat. Add the minced garlic cloves and sauté until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat.

  4. 9

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the remaining butter, heavy cream, sautéed garlic, salt, and black pepper.

  5. 10

    Combine and Serve

Mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste. Serve the garlic mashed potatoes alongside the grilled ribeye steaks.
