Preparation

  1. 1

    Prep the Ingredients

Clean the blue crabs by rinsing them under cold water. Remove any dead crabs and discard. Cut the corn into halves if desired. Wash the red potatoes thoroughly and cut them in half if they are large. Slice the andouille sausage into 1-inch pieces.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Boil the Water

In a large pot, bring 4 quarts of water to a boil over high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of salt and 3 tablespoons of Old Bay seasoning to the boiling water.

  2. 3

    Cook the Potatoes

Once the water is boiling, add the red potatoes to the pot. Allow them to cook for about 10-12 minutes, until they are just tender.

  3. 4

    Add the Corn and Sausage

Add the corn on the cob and sliced andouille sausage to the pot. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.

  4. 5

    Add the Crab

Carefully add the cleaned blue crabs to the pot. Cover and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the crabs are bright red and cooked through.

  5. 6

    Finish and Serve

Once everything is cooked, use a slotted spoon to remove the crab, corn, potatoes, and sausage from the pot. Place them on a large platter. Drizzle with melted butter and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top. Serve hot.
