Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Start by cleaning and deveining the shrimp if not already done. Halve the red potatoes and cut the corn into halves or thirds. Slice the smoked sausage.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Cooking Pot

In a large pot, fill with 4 quarts of water. Add 1 tablespoon of salt, Old Bay seasoning, minced garlic, and bay leaves. Bring the water to a rolling boil.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Potatoes

Once the water is boiling, add the halved red potatoes. Cook for about 10-15 minutes until they are tender but still firm.

  2. 4

    Add the Corn and Sausage

After the potatoes have cooked, add the corn pieces and sliced smoked sausage to the pot. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes.

  3. 5

    Cook the Shrimp

Finally, add the shrimp to the pot. Cook for another 3-5 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.

  4. 6

    Drain and Serve

Using a slotted spoon or a colander, drain the contents of the pot. Serve the shrimp, potatoes, corn, and sausage on a large platter. Garnish with lemon wedges and chopped parsley, if desired.
