Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Duck Breast

Score the skin of the duck breast in a crosshatch pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Cook the Duck Breast

In a cold skillet, place the duck breast skin-side down. Turn the heat to medium and cook for about 6-8 minutes, allowing the fat to render and the skin to become crispy. Flip the duck breast and continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or longer depending on your desired doneness. Once cooked, let the duck rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  3. 3

    Cook the Eggs

In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the pan and cook until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny, about 3-4 minutes. You can cover the pan for a minute to help the whites set if needed.

  4. 4

    Plate the Dish

Slice the duck breast and arrange it on a plate. Top with the fried egg and garnish with fresh herbs. Serve immediately.
