Crawfish Beignet Ingredients

Method

Crawfish Beignet Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk and eggs until smooth. Add the crawfish tails and green onions, stirring to combine.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; the batter should be slightly lumpy.

  4. 4

    Heat Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 360°F (182°C).

  5. 5

    Fry Beignets

Using a spoon or a small ice cream scoop, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per batch.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Remove the beignets with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
