Burger Preparation

Form the Patties
In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until combined. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties.

Toast the Buns
While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

Make the Aioli
In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, minced garlic cloves, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well until smooth. Set aside.

Prepare the Potatoes
Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin, shoestring-like strips.

Fry the Potatoes
In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potato strips in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt while still hot.
