Method

Bacon Jam

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Onion and Garlic

In the same skillet, add diced onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Chop the cooked bacon and add it back to the skillet. Add brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, and water. Stir to combine.

  4. 4

    Simmer

Bring the mixture to a simmer and reduce heat to low. Let it cook for about 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.

  5. 5

    Blend

Once thickened, use an immersion blender to blend the mixture until smooth. Let cool before transferring to a jar.

Pepper Jelly

  1. 6

    Prepare the Peppers

In a medium saucepan, combine chopped bell peppers and jalapeño pepper.

  2. 7

    Cook the Mixture

Add sugar, apple cider vinegar, and salt to the saucepan. Stir well and bring to a boil over medium heat.

  3. 8

    Add Pectin

Once boiling, stir in the pectin and continue to boil for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

  4. 9

    Jar the Jelly

Pour the hot jelly into sterilized jars and seal. Allow to cool before refrigerating.
