Method

Eggs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Eggs

In a small bowl, beat the eggs. Add salt and black pepper to taste.

  2. 2

    Cook the Eggs

In a non-stick skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Pour in the beaten eggs and cook until the edges start to set. Gently scramble using a spatula until fully cooked. Remove from heat and set aside.

Bacon

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, add the bacon slices. Cook until crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and place on a paper towel to drain excess grease.

Gouda Grits

  1. 4

    Cook the Grits

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Stir in the grits and reduce heat to low. Cook for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thick and creamy.

  2. 5

    Add Cheese and Seasoning

Once the grits are cooked, stir in the shredded Gouda cheese, butter, salt, and black pepper. Mix until the cheese is melted and fully incorporated.

Biscuit

  1. 6

    Prepare the Biscuit Dough

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  2. 7

    Add Milk and Form Biscuits

Add milk to the flour mixture and stir until just combined. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently. Roll out to about 1-inch thickness and cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter.

  3. 8

    Bake the Biscuits

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
