Cook the Macaroni
In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Add Milk
Gradually add the milk to the roux, whisking constantly to prevent lumps. Continue to cook until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

Add Cheese and Seasonings
Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, salt, black pepper, and paprika until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.

Combine Pasta and Cheese Sauce
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked macaroni and the cheese sauce. Mix well until the macaroni is fully coated.

Prepare the Topping
In a small bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, and melted butter. Mix until the breadcrumbs are evenly coated.

Assemble and Bake
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the macaroni and cheese mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
