Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Sauce

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion, carrot, and celery, sautéing until soft, about 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Meat

Add the ground pork and ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking up the meat with a spoon, about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Garlic and Tomatoes

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute. Add the canned tomatoes, tomato paste, and red wine. Mix well.

  4. 4

    Season the Sauce

Sprinkle in the dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce heat and let it cook for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. 5

    Cook the Spaghetti

While the sauce is simmering, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Drain and set aside.

  6. 6

    Combine and Serve

Once the sauce is ready, toss the cooked spaghetti with the sauce. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil.
