Chicken Marinade

Method

Chicken Marinade

1

Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they are coated well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for better flavor.

2

Grill the Chicken

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and grill for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Once cooked, remove from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Tzatziki Sauce

3

Prepare the Tzatziki

Grate the cucumber and squeeze out excess moisture using a clean kitchen towel. In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, chopped dill, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to use.

Gyro Assembly

4

Assemble the Gyros

Warm the pita bread slightly on the grill or in a pan. On each pita, layer sliced grilled chicken, crumbled feta cheese, shredded lettuce, diced tomato, and thinly sliced red onion. Top generously with tzatziki sauce.

5

Serve

Fold the pita over the fillings, wrap it in foil if desired, and serve immediately. Enjoy your homemade Chicken Gyro!
