Method

Prepare Ingredients

1

Gather Ingredients

Collect all the ingredients you wish to use for your sandwich, including the bread, protein, toppings, and condiments.

2

Prep Proteins

If using tuna salad or chicken salad, prepare these in a bowl. For turkey, ham, roast beef, or cheese, slice them accordingly if not pre-sliced.

3

Wash Vegetables

Rinse the lettuce, tomato, and onion under cold water. Dry them with a paper towel.

4

Slice Tomato and Onion

Cut the tomato and onion into thin slices.

Assemble Sandwich

5

Choose Your Bread

Select your preferred type of bread (sourdough, whole wheat, rye, or ciabatta).

6

Spread Condiments

Spread mayonnaise and mustard on one or both slices of bread according to your taste.

7

Layer Proteins

Add your choice of protein on top of the condiment-covered bread. If using cheese, place it on top of the protein.

8

Add Toppings

Place the lettuce, tomato slices, onion slices, and pickles on top of the protein and cheese.

9

Top It Off

Place the second slice of bread on top of the assembled sandwich. If using a ciabatta roll, close it up.

10

Season

Sprinkle salt and pepper over the sandwich to taste.

Grill (Optional)

11

Grill for Grilled Cheese

If you want a grilled cheese sandwich, heat a skillet over medium heat. Butter the outside of the sandwich and grill until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
