Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Seafood
Rinse the shrimp, crab legs, and mussels under cold water to remove any debris. Ensure the shrimp are peeled and deveined, and the mussels are cleaned and debearded.
- 2
Prepare the Steaming Setup
In a large pot, add the water and white wine (if using). Place a steaming basket or a heatproof plate inside the pot.
- 3
Season the Seafood
Sprinkle the Old Bay seasoning over the shrimp, crab legs, and mussels. Add minced garlic and toss gently to coat the seafood evenly.
Cooking
- 4
Steam the Seafood
Bring the water and wine to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, carefully place the seasoned seafood into the steaming basket or on the plate. Cover the pot with a lid.
- 5
Timing the Cooking
Steam the seafood for about 6-8 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque, the crab legs are heated through, and the mussels have opened. Discard any mussels that do not open.
