Brownie Preparation

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

Melt the Butter
In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

Mix Sugars and Eggs
In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and the melted butter. Stir until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

Add Chocolate Chips
Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Bake the Brownies
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Slice and Serve
Once the brownies are completely cooled, slice them into squares. Serve each brownie warm or at room temperature topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
