Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Once the yeast is frothy, add it to the flour mixture along with the olive oil. Mix until it forms a dough.

  4. 4

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 6

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) to ensure it's hot enough for baking.

  2. 7

    Roll Out Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.

  3. 8

    Add BBQ Sauce

Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread the BBQ sauce evenly over the dough.

  4. 9

    Add Chicken

Scatter the shredded grilled chicken evenly over the BBQ sauce.

  5. 10

    Add Cheese and Onions

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the chicken, followed by the thinly sliced red onion.

  6. 11

    Bake Pizza

Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  7. 12

    Garnish

Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle chopped fresh cilantro on top before slicing.
