Cheesecake Base

Method

Cheesecake Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the crust

In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, melted butter, and salt until well combined. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form an even layer. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes. Allow to cool.

  2. 2

    Make the cheesecake filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine 4 (8 oz) packages of cream cheese, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 1 tsp of vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy. Add 4 large eggs, one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition until just combined.

  3. 3

    Add flavorings

At this point, you can incorporate your desired flavorings (e.g., melted chocolate, fruit puree, or citrus zest) into the cheesecake batter, mixing until evenly combined.

  4. 4

    Bake the cheesecake

Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled crust in the springform pan. Bake in the oven at 325°F (160°C) for 55-60 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly jiggly.

  5. 5

    Cool and chill

Turn off the oven and crack the oven door open. Allow the cheesecake to cool in the oven for 1 hour. After cooling, refrigerate the cheesecake for at least 4 hours or overnight to set fully.

  6. 6

    Serve

Once chilled, carefully remove the cheesecake from the springform pan. Slice and serve as desired. Optionally, top with fruit, chocolate ganache, or whipped cream.
