Meatballs

Tomato Sauce

Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, minced garlic, chopped parsley, egg, bread crumbs, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Using your hands, shape the mixture into 3 equal-sized meatballs, approximately 2 inches in diameter.

Tomato Sauce

  1. 3

    Sauté Onion and Garlic

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. 4

    Cook the Sauce

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes.

  3. 5

    Add Meatballs

Carefully add the formed meatballs into the sauce. Cover the skillet and simmer for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the meatballs are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).

Garnish

  1. 6

    Garnish the Dish

Once the meatballs are cooked, remove the skillet from heat. Serve the meatballs on a plate, spooning the sauce over them. Top with sliced almonds and chopped cilantro for garnish.
