Method

Waffle Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Waffle Batter

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Whisk together until evenly mixed. In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; some lumps are fine.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Waffle Iron

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  3. 3

    Cook the Waffles

Once preheated, spray the waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray. Pour an appropriate amount of batter onto the waffle iron (generally around 1 cup, depending on the size). Close the waffle iron and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp, about 5-7 minutes.

Pancake Preparation

  1. 4

    Make the Pancake Batter

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, beat the eggs and add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

  2. 5

    Preheat the Griddle

Heat a non-stick griddle or frying pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or oil.

  3. 6

    Cook the Pancakes

Pour about 1/4 cup of pancake batter onto the griddle for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

Serving

  1. 7

    Assemble and Serve

Serve the waffles or pancakes warm with a pat of butter on top. Drizzle with warm syrup. Top with sliced bananas, toasted pecans, fresh strawberries, and a generous dollop of whipped cream.
